Scorpion Temperature Calculator (Warm Side & Cool Side)
This Scorpion Temperature Calculator gives typical warm-side and cool-side ranges for different scorpion habitat types. It helps you check whether your enclosure’s thermal gradient is in a common care range and flag potential risks from temperatures that are too low or too high.
Check your scorpion’s ideal temperature range
Choose a habitat type and (optionally) enter your current readings to see:
- Recommended warm-side temperature range
- Recommended cooler-side / hide temperature range
- How your current temps compare to these guidelines

Example
Desert scorpion in a heated enclosure
- Warm side: 30–35 °C (86–95 °F)
- Cool side / hide: 24–28 °C (75–82 °F)
- Too cool can cause sluggish behavior and poor feeding.
- Too hot can lead to dehydration, stress and overheating.
How to use your scorpion’s temperature guidelines
1. Measure in multiple spots
Use probes or reliable thermometers at the warm side, cool side and inside at least one hide. Air temperatures alone can be misleading.
2. Adjust heat sources slowly
Change thermostat settings, heat mat or lamp output in small steps. Re-check after a few hours before making further changes.
3. Watch behavior, not just numbers
A well-set gradient lets your scorpion choose. Constantly hugging the glass, hiding only at one extreme, or staying exposed under a very hot lamp can all be signs something needs adjustment.
