Dog Age Calculator (Dog to Human Years)
The old “1 dog year = 7 human years” rule is wrong. This Dog Age Calculator uses a more realistic curve so you can estimate your dog’s age in human years and understand whether it’s in a puppy, adult or senior stage.

How to read your dog’s “human age”
1. Young dogs age very fast
Puppies and adolescents gain “human years” quickly in the first 1–2 years, especially large and giant breeds. That’s why early life is so important for training and health.
2. Adult years slow down
Once your dog reaches adulthood, each calendar year adds fewer “human years” than during puppyhood, but joint care, dental care and weight control become crucial.
3. Senior dogs need closer monitoring
As dogs enter their senior years, changes in mobility, appetite, thirst, behavior or sleep should be discussed with a vet sooner rather than later.
