Example

Mating ~35 days ago

  • Gestation day: around day 35–37.
  • Stage: mid-pregnancy (roughly week 5).
  • Common signs: nipple enlargement, abdominal rounding, more resting.
Warning: Strong pain, heavy discharge, visible distress, collapse, very low appetite, repeated vomiting or difficulty breathing during any stage of pregnancy should be treated as a veterinary emergency.

How to read your dog’s pregnancy estimate

1. Due dates are a range, not a single day

Most dogs whelp around day 63 from mating, but normal deliveries can happen a few days earlier or later. The calculator gives a window, not a guaranteed date.

2. Signs vary between dogs and litters

Some dogs show very clear nesting, appetite changes or clinginess, while others stay subtle. Use the timeline as a guideline and watch for patterns in your individual dog.

3. Vet monitoring is still essential

A veterinarian can confirm pregnancy, check for complications, estimate litter size closer to term, and advise you on whelping preparation and when to seek emergency help.
